Temporary Traffic Management Order

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Hermongers Lane (D185), Rudgwick that extends from its junction with Horsham Road (D185), to the county boundary with West Sussex; b) prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding in the lengths of road described in Schedule 1 to this Notice at a speed greater than 30 MPH c) suspend “THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL HERMONGERS LANE (D185), RUDGWICK TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2019”; and d) suspend “The Surrey County Council ((Various Roads in Cox Green and Ellen’s Green in the Borough of Waverley)(40mph Speed Limit and 50mph Speed Limit) Order 2010 (Amendment No.1) Order 2015” and any Speed Limit Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the lengths of road described in Schedule 1 to this Notice.

This Traffic Order is required to enable Eight2O to carry out water mains replacement works on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out in within 5 weeks of the 6 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 August 2019. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, speed limits and suspensions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For part a) there is no vehicular diversion possible due to the road being a cul-de-sac however access for emergency services, residences, businesses, pedestrians and; dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. The speed limit and the prohibition imposed by this Order will not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police.
i) that length of Horsham Road (B2128), Cranleigh that extends from the southern property boundary of “Norley Farm” to its junction with Somersbury Lane (C47)
ii) that length of Horsham Road (B2128), Rudgwick that extends from its junction with Furzen Lane (C51) to the county boundary with West Sussex
