Road Closure - Smithwood Common Road and Mannings Hill

SMITHWOOD COMMON ROAD (D191), AND MANNINGS HILL (D191), CRANLEIGH - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2020

ON 6TH MAY 2020 SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL MADE the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Smithwood Common Road (D191) and Mannings Hill (D191), Cranleigh that extends from its junction with Amlets Lane (D191), to its junction with Alderbrook Road (D194)(also known as Winterfold Road).

This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable major highway patching, maintenance, resurfacing, and/or improvement works on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 15 May 2020. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and; dismounted cyclists and equestrians at all times.

Access for residents and businesses on the affected length of Smithwood Common Road (D191) and Mannings Hill (D191), will be maintained via the vehicular diversion route which will be: Guildford Road (B2128), The Common (B2128), The Common (D182) and Horseshoe Lane (D182).
