What are we doing?
We will be upgrading the traffic lights on Ewhurst Road near Sherrydon, Cranleigh.
Roadworks during COVID-19 restrictions
We are carrying out these works in line with central government and COVID-19 safe working practises in accordance with the CLC Site Operating Procedures, endorsed by Public Health England.
Our sub-contractor will have appropriate procedures in place to ensure their staff can comply with government advice. We would ask that you please respect these workers as they deliver these highways services.
Information for residents and businesses
We will be replacing all the traffic light equipment as it has become obsolete and is in a poor condition.
Temporary lights with a pedestrian crossing will operate for 24 hours a day. The location of the work is highlighted on the map. Access will always be maintained for pedestrians.
To complete our works it is necessary to have the area free from parked cars. Please park elsewhere, otherwise your vehicle may be towed away.
Delays in work
Our work is sometimes delayed by bad weather or failure of our existing pipework. We will keep you updated on any changes via the advance warning signs and on one.network
If you would like to sign up for updates on these works, you can do so using the roadworks map at one.network and searching for your road.
There will be some noise, but we will try to keep this to a minimum.
Who will carry out the works?
The council’s contractor Siemens will be carrying out these works on our behalf.
This work is part of Surrey County Council’s refurbishment programme.
