Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021 for Public Footpath Nos.197, 223 & 225, Bridleway Nos.201 & 205(Shere), Bridleway No.202(Shere, Cranleigh)

On 27 April 2021 Surrey County Council will make a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of:
i) Footpath No. 197 (Shere) from its junction with Hound House Road (Grid ref. 507671 143481) in a westerly direction to its junction with Bridleway 205.
ii) Footpath No. 223 (Shere) from its junction with Bridleway 224 (Grid ref. 506376 143525) in a south easterly direction to its junction with Bridleway 205.
iii) Footpath No. 225 (Shere) from its junction with Bridleway 224 (Grid ref. 506387 143111) in an easterly direction to its junction with Bridleway 205.
iv) Bridleway No. 201 (Shere) from its junction with Bridleway 203 (Grid ref. 507498 143899) in a south westerly and then south easterly direction to a point 77m south west of its junction with Hound House Road.
v) Bridleway 202 (Shere) and (Cranleigh) from its junction with Bridleway 203 (Grid ref. 507031 144149) in a generally southerly direction to its junction with Winterfold Heath Road.
vi) Bridleway 205 (Shere) from its junction with Bridleway 205a (Grid ref. 506525 143844) in a southerly direction to its junction with Footpath 225.
The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to works on and next to the path. It will be in operation from 28 April 2021 until 28 May 2021 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
There are no alternative routes
The ‘Surrey County Council Public Footpath Nos. 197, 223 & 225, Bridleway Nos. 201 & 205 (Shere) and Bridleway No. 202 (Shere) & (Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021’ will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
